Our focus
We believe that there is an enormous untapped opportunity in so-called “converged” digital media and advertising platforms.
Things like mobile advertising, social media, IP TV, IP delivered outdoor and augmented reality are exciting new ways for brands to engage with consumers. And consumer engagement with these platforms is growing at an unprecedented rate.
The advertising and media ecosystem – marketers, media buyers, creatives, publishers and sales teams – are aware of these converged media platforms and of the potential inherent in them. However because these platforms are not yet well understood, there has been little sustained focus on harnessing these opportunities.
Gregan McMahon & Associates is focused on helping the Australian digital media industry gain a better understanding of the concrete results that converged digital media advertising can deliver.
Our capabilities
Gregan McMahon is an experienced senior executive with more than 15 years experience in the Australian media industry. He started his career in magazine publishing, but since 1997 has focused largely on digital media.
He has held senior management roles at Sensis (Telstra’s media and directories arm), Yahoo!7 and HWW Ltd, with capabilities encompasssing:

Previous experience
Prior to launching Gregan McMahon & Associates in August 2009, Gregan was Head of Mobile for Sensis. In this role he led the team responsible for developing, growing and monetizing the mobile presences for Australia’s largest portfolio of mobile brands, including:
- Yellow Pages Mobile
- White Pages Mobile
- Trading Post Mobile
- Whereis Mobile
- Sensis Mobile Search (in partnership with Yahoo! OneSearch)
He was also responsible for the developing and bringing to market the targeted mobile advertising products sold by Mediasmart – Australia’s largest digital advertising sales network.
In this role he delivered consumer usage growth across the portfolio of more than 1,000% and launching Sensis’s mobile advertising business, which is now a market leader with a multi-million dollar revenue stream.
Before joining Sensis, Gregan was Head of Mobile for Yahoo! AU&NZ (later Yahoo!7). This role saw Gregan mobilising Yahoo!’s core content assets (Mail, Messenger, Search) as well as developing new mobile content properties for Channel Seven, including Home & Away, Sunrise, the Australian Open and The Winter Olympics.
Before joining Yahoo! in 2005, Gregan was General Manager of HWW Content. HWW was an ASX-listed company which provided content and applications to Australian media corporations. HWW Limited was acquired by NineMSN in mid-2006.
Gregan holds an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a BA from the University of Sydney.
